Under
most circumstances, individuals who possess a B-1 Business
Visitor Visa are issued a 6-month period of stay. This
is the maximum length that can be issued. In some circumstances,
a shorter period of stay may be issued, depending upon
the individual case. The length of stay is determined
by the immigration officer at the port of entry. The visitor
then has their I-94 card stamped with the length of stay
they have been designated. Should the visitor wish to
remain in the United States for a longer period of time,
they have the option of requesting an extension of stay.
